Relational Difficulties

#Focusing On The Road Set Before You#

There are many things which can distract and draw your attention from the things that you are to be doing. Many times relationships can surprise you and take a turn for the worst, and become perhaps quiet damaging. It is time to step away from such things after trying to reconcile and adjust to new rhythms and styles. This is one distracting things which can consume a lot of our daily lives, but we need to be ready to go the extra mile time and again. It seems like a huge ask when things aren’t that pleasant and there is constant strife in the relationship. Strife means, “a differing on fundamental principles”. It is the thing Jesus was speaking of when he said, “and the enemies of a mans life will be the members of his own household”. And again when he speaks about “dividing two against three”, and “mother against son, and daughter against her father”. These speak about a change in direction. See when Christ comes into our lives, his truth permeates ALL of our existence. Everything becomes different, and the way we think changes. This is also known as the renewing of your mind. We cannot exercise friendship with the things that are evil and be a trusted companion of God’s. It is impossible. You will be in both camps and God says he will spit out the lukewarm on the day of judgement. Our loyalties now rest with the King. Even though our families might revile us or reject us it is important to not loose heart, and remember Jesus Christ went through all these same things, and this is the reason he spoke of them. Praise God for that! I love Jesus for leading us on the straight and narrow road. The bible actually calls that way, “narrow and hard is the way which leads to life”. It is tough man, and it sometimes gets immensely hard, but there is always hope in the Father. Hallelujah. Amen.

God bless you in the Love of Christ,

No Other Name #2

#Humanness Verses God#

There is no other name in heaven or on the earth weightier than the name of God. With all perseverance and persuasion, the Lord’s name must be glorified to the ends of the earth. There are many ideals which can consume your money and your time, Jesus said,

“Why do you spend your money on things which are not food?”

This is a fantastic statement, because it reveals the nature of God. Nothing is higher than the Lord, and we go about finding reasons to live for. Installing a pool in the back yard, renovation our house, buying the newest car. When the entire time our prize in heaven gets smaller and smaller. Eventually we’re going to be living on the lawn of one of our heavenly neighbors.

Jesus asked of some pertinent questions. “Come follow me” as he’d call to some of his disciples. There once was even a case where a disciples father had died, and he’d asked Jesus if he could first go bury him and then he’d come follow Jesus. Jesus replied to him, “Let the dead bury the dead” – how is this possible if God’s calling is not weightier than anything we will ever do. God is much higher than what our society and cultures tell us is proper or good. God is still higher, and remains more wise and truthful than any other.

Humanness is an enemy of God’s will and desire. We need to submit our every plan and purpose to God completely. There comes a time for the things the Lord has for my life, and I know they are coming, but the time is simply not yet. Does that mean the Lord cannot be at work within me at this point in time? Absolutely not. In fact he is relentlessly working on my mind and will in so many many ways! It takes time to rewire some things of this world, so that we can truly testify to the width, breadth and height of an almighty consuming God. And amazing he is. Jesus went through a time of preparation, only beginning to preach when he was thirty. Paul once converted on the Damascus road took three years to finally go back to Jerusalem. Often time is taken to make preparations and truly understand God’s ideas in life. Let’s not assume we know unless he has spoken, then you can be assured and do that.

God Is So Great, There Is None Like Him, And There Will Never Be.

Blessings, Qsp.

No Other Name

#No Other Name#

We have a name, but no other name means anything more than the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without the name of Christ there is nothing which matters or has any worth, because it is he who gives worth to everything made of God.

We commit our lives to so many things, and so many times this name of his goes unrecognized and honored in a central place of our routine. Without God you and I don’t exist. There can never be anything on this earth without the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Be aware of the idols which consume your minds and your time. I will not call any of these sins at the moment, but warn very sternly that earthly happiness will lead you away from God, do not think for one second that you’re stronger than the desires of the flesh! We are in this world, but not of it. That means we are here but look nothing like the people around us. All our strengths and prizes are in glorifying the name of God in and through our lives. This generation, and people of the world, have always pursued and honored the flesh. And you as children of God also have the flesh nature with you, however it is your job by the Spirit of God to resist those things. The world desires physical strength, beauty, wealth, and popularity, however none of these are pleasing to God. Do not be fooled into thinking that you are being relevant. You are further from the truth than you think. People of the world have always pursued after things of the flesh, and these are shameful, because God has honored sexuality, marriage, and true worship. God has no desire for the things and opinions of people, he looks into their hearts and sees everything they really are. The lusts of the flesh and the pride of life. These things continuously pillage the churches and rob the people of truth and righteousness. However these things are not our way. Our way is the way of Christ. His wounds and his glory. Let us not be fooled that these things are of God, but rather of man. We’ve been called for God’s purpose, not ours or the people of this world. Our lives should constantly reflect those truths. Only those who pursue God and not this world are worthy. The first will be last, and the last first.

To No Other Name, Glory To The Only Name Worth Our Time And Effort.

Amen, Qsp.

Egypt the safe place.

God has just revealed to me that Egypt is a friend to the refugee of our faith. That is the Jew and the Christian. There is a blessing given to this region by the Lord. Safety will be given to the people of God in this area. God has said this is the place of “holding ground“. As a veil hides that which is behind it so Egypt will be covered by the goodness of the Lord. The persecution of the region will fail on the face of Egypt. God has made a place of escape. Egypt will blessed and protected as a byproduct of the Lord. As the Arc of the Covenant used to bless the house of David in the times gone by, so Egypt will be protected and blessed of the Lord. Egypt will be the place of “holding ground“. God speaks of prolonged blessing in this area of the region. There is safety in Egypt. It is time for the people to travel there and find peace for the current storm. It’s time to pray for the people of God (both Jew and Christian) to travel safely as in the night if they journey to this area. There is a place of refuge made by the hands of the Lord in Egypt.

The Big Picture

The Big Picture.

Ultimately our lives are about the lost people of the earth, but firstly our obedience to the King! We’re to seek these people out and win them over the the faith of Jesus Christ! As Paul puts it we’re to be ready to give answers for the faith we hold.

Why is all this so crucial? Well because most people are headed for an eternity with or without God. An eternity which is separate from peace, but one which is all too real for pain and destruction.

The bible says there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in that last day. That is to say not everyone will make it into heaven. Jesus says I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except my me (Jn10:10).

Not everyone one will listen to sound teaching in the end so our work is cut out for us in this time. But announce we must and train whoever listens. Matt28:18 says make disciples of all nations. Lets do that.

God bless, and continue to work hard, bringing the lost into the kingdom of God. Amen. QuickStudyProphetic.

The Struggle.

You know I think God has simply has made struggle part of our calling. We’re going to struggle to make bread, to plant crops, to win souls. Each of these are part of the curse found on the earth I believe. When Adam sinned the earth became cursed and everything from then on would be just one uphill battle. Without the Spirit of God I have no idea where we’d be! We need his nurture and his comfort every moment to not loose sight and remain fervent until the very end.

I was just thinking about the apostles in the beginning of their journey after Christ’s ascent. Those guys worked hard man, they were slaves unto Christ and worked tirelessly to take the gospel to people around the place. Workers worth their wage indeed, although we don’t know if some were as faithful with their callings (namely those who never wrote to churches). Paul was a unique guys driven and articulate with the truths of God. God ministered to him new revelation often, and Romans 8 tells us this was the reason for the thorn in his side. Fantastic ministry.

But nevertheless they worked tirelessly winning people over to the truth. This is what I’m speaking of when I say struggle. There seems to be this never ending battle in fighting for the truth. To not fight is to let Satan take of people and win them to his side. We must not stop fighting against the whiles of the enemy. Part of the curse was this ethic of “swetting for our daily bread”. It seems the uphill roads do not escape us as Christians. We need to remain alert and question every false doctrine and false teaching along the way, and these conversations can be extremely tiring and exhausting. But nothing comes easy it seems. Every now and then God would seem to break through on our behalf, but walking daily the reigns a pulled tight as we tug the barriers out of people’s way. I seem to be prone to this, I strap on the church and personally make it my life’s ambition to rid it of every false doctrine and pestilence. The glory of God is yet to be seen, but one day it will shine as the noon day sun! Even if I never see the breakthrough, something holds my heart firm like an ox to the plow. I’m in it to win it, nothing less, and I’ve faced my fair share of opposition along the way which has only (eventually) made me stronger. Leaders face this all the time. It’s what makes them tough as nails.

So this theory that struggle is part of life, it is inescapable. Time and again whether it is work or play, there is struggle around every corner. It would seem the best thing to do is to accept that and keep hitting everything head on along the way.

Please share with me your thoughts on something like this.

God bless, in Jesus name. Qsp

You’re a Pluralist, but I’m a Exclusivist

This article is written primarily to try and illustrate the tensions which we seem to face when dealing with people of the world. They’re not toxic evils, but our perspectives are 180° in the opposite directions.

What tends to happen I find is I have many friends and family who say they love and accept me whole heartedly, however they’re not saved and they don’t care for Jesus one second. So they leave me warm and fuzzy, welcomed and loved. But is this good enough? They’re approaching my life from an all accepting culture. Something otherwise known as pluralism. Well a form of it. This occurs when we are to not reject anyone, but accept everyone whole heartedly and fully for who they are. This however causes a little problem when it comes to the Kingdom of God. God is exclusive.

God desires non should perish (John3:16; 2Pet3:9) but his way of escape (1Cor10:13) is narrowly and finitely Jesus Christ the Lamb which takes away the sins of the world. John 10:10 shares how Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” This tends to narrow the margin a little. Without accepting Jesus it doesn’t matter how nice or friendly you might be here on the earth, the fact remains without him you won’t go to heaven. So this is the theology which we face at present.

Our friends and family mean well I know this, and it is touching when they offer honest heartfelt feelings towards us, but without accepting Christ it is hard for me as a Christian to really accept them. They are sinners without Christ. And that is saying so without judgement – we all are! That is the truth. Without Christ your a dead man walking.

So this is what I’m speaking about when I talk about “you’re a pluralist, whilst I’m an exclusivist”. Because without Christ there is no smile on this earth which will save you from the pits of destruction, hell. It’s sad, but it is the thing which sets me apart from them, and thus the exclusive nature of my calling, and any on the road with Christ. The road ahead of me is one to the lost, but I am not to linger with the lost either. I’m, according to Jesus to dust my shoes off and depart from that place (Matt10:14). To those of my family who have chosen their walk away from God I do pray for them, but otherwise I have nothing else other than the life-giving Savior to offer to them. The gospel of salvation, Jesus Christ.

Take care, and remain strong in the faith. Let us not be fooled, our faith has it’s boundaries.

Always a blessing, Qsp.

Generational Displacement

I Have A Theory I Want To Term: “Generational Displacement”.

I’ve begun to notice a certain social displacement happening in society, and I believe that’s happening because an identity shift is occurring once more. As a Christian I find peace in God, however if someone does not know God they are actually lost from the get go which makes decision making that more corrupt and broken. We’re in this double trouble time; we have a secular society – which means an increased push away from God, and now this stage of insecurity/uncertainty so to speak.

The retro, ‘sixties’ type movement we’re seeing is a result I believe of people not being certain of where they are in time at this moment. There is even a spike in folk music, reflecting genres gone by. People seem to be clinging to things from the past. What is causing this is an important question to ask?

Times of uncertainty can cause us to return to familiar ground. When growing up we face new phases of life along the way, but sometimes we’re not sure which is the best choice. Often at these points we look to see what either our parents or maybe a key figure in our lives might have done. We try and imagine what they would have done in this situation, but what happens when you no longer have a God fearing truth-filled figure in your life to compare with!? It will become the classic blind leading the blind – and Jesus says they will lead each other into a ditch (Matt15:14).

Because this generation does not know where it’s going (future) the past becomes a crutch to lean on in these times. The options and choices from past episodes become their weapons of choice, yet they can’t distinguish between even the errors of that previous time – and so it goes round and round. This is all too revealing of where people are at in this moment in time. Revealing I believe something far deeper than simply making ‘new’ decisions.  Therefore to the Christian I say be aware of your context, yet remain firm in your faith, because you’ve found the actual thing they’re all meandering around the place for. They think they’ll find it, but they wont; therefore rejoice because you have found the truth and are personally known by the Lord God Almighty. There is also opportunity in this time I believe to speak into this circumstance.

With increased secularism and the conglomerate globalism occurring, I see a chance for the message of Christ the rock becoming all to critical and important. This is the big idea, however what it means to the Christian is wearing your faith on your sleeve so to speak. To constantly display verbally and non-verbally your trust in God! There is none like his goodness, none like his power, and no other has created the human race and everything we know and see. God is above all, and to not acknowledge him in this time is the most tragic of things anyone could do. But we have a generation who insists God does not exist, and there will be consequences for such ideologies and thinking. With or without them God will maintain his word, and he will wipe away every hindering spirit before the every end of time. But to us who remain in this time, and with this people, we are to be fervent in displaying the truths of God almighty. As Paul puts it, “do not grow weary of doing good” (Gal6:9). We must not let our lights be snuffed out by a deluded and wondering world. As Jesus puts it “be as innocent as doves, but shrewd as serpents” (Matt10:16). You must remain alert at all times, and not come under the authority and opinion of this world. It is destined for destruction, however you can advocate the truth, and no matter the consequences, because one day our lives will be take from us because we stand for the truth, we must persist that it is real and it is trustworthy. No one else can do this for you, but I pray that your faiths would not dwindle in the current and coming times.

This generation has cut itself more and more away from it’s God made roots and now is in a place of redefinition – a bad combination! We as Christians need to be seen and heard in this time more than ever. I know it seems a very challenging time to be displaying Christian ethics, such as marriage, true spirituality, and purity of mind, but this is a critical time! “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven” (Matt5:17).

It is a time to be visible and not a time to shrink away. We must not hide, but in every forum – Facebook, Twitter, conversations, voting, etc – we must reveal our bias towards truth – always! A displaced people need guides, but what if they have none? They might not even want one, and thus they will be the blind leading the blind. This is not to say you wont be rejected, but that will. But you never know who might listen, you’ll probably be surprised!

Lets pray and display our Christian values as MUCH as possible. “The time is coming and now is when people will not enjoy sound doctrine” (2Tim4:3). Lets make a promise to whether or not they accept us to keep doing the will of our Father who is in heaven. I know even not laughing a their crude jokes is a form of protest to the world’s position, and we should do that. Staying away from destructive talk. Defend the truth – “blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness” (Matt5:6). Whether it be big or small every ideology other than Christ must be brought low. God is alive and he’s come into the world to save, redeem and deliver his people. The Christian is to remain secure in the promises of God – he is not slow in fulfilling them (2Pet3:9). There is no fear in God’s perfect love! Only truth and assurance that he is faithful every step of the way. And he is. But the people of the world are wondering everywhere except to the truth. It is very sad but we must pray that the Lord of the harvest minister to all their lives. Jesus for King!

With Christ’s Love, God bless. Qsp.

Where is my focus?

Where is my focus?

I’ve been asking myself this question for some time now. Why do we seem to forget the little things which made us spark at the beginning of our journeys? The flesh is weak that is for sure. We need the strength and mercy of God to help us through these times.

Recently my wife and I have became members of a new church and its something we’ve been wanting to do for a while now. To finally have a community in which we could be involved and live out God given gifts and abilities. We are only part of a body, not the entire body after-all.

But something I’ve noticed in this journey is the desire to be seen and known by these people. Both my wife and I have degrees from Bible College, and there’s something inside me which says let us help you, but the Lord I believe is saying otherwise! But this has challenged some hidden things inside my heart I believe. It’s been a very long time since I’ve simply attended church and done some simple things around the place. I’m used to in over my head, but glory to God kind of stuff. But he’s teaching me something new. And through the frustration I think I’m beginning understand what it is now.

Sometimes we forget why we began loving God in the first place. It wasn’t because of status and position in the church, it was because we loved him with all our hearts and we could not help ourselves in face of his goodness. It was a desperate place where our hearts lay bare and we’d love him till the day we’d die. I know this is my story anyways. God gripped me deep down in my being.

So he leads us, and I must say it has been an enjoyable journey thus far. So I leave you with this today, where’s your journey taking you, and have you figured out yet why certain frustrations might be present in your life? It’s a good exercise, and something which requires prayer and periodic questioning and reflection. Keep seeking to find.

With the Love of Christ, God Bless.

A Note On Prophecy

I have always admired those who spoke the rhema words of God, the prophetic messages directed to Gods people. However as I grew up I realized not everyone can discern between the false prophets and true men and woman of God. They got scared and maybe even have been hurt by false words, my advice to you is never let a fraud distract you from Gods beauty! When God speaks the wise listen. Paul writes to desire the gift of prophecy above all gifts! This is a gift to the church, sometimes God will use this ministry to pinpoint the undercurrents of the church people who spread lies or rumors, and sometimes he’ll even let you know of things to come. Which ever it is this ministry is dynamic. It is a blessings from the Lord. Do not neglect those called to the prophetic function! Yes we’ve all been called but each to their own place, in this case let those who prophecy do so with boldness and encourage them. Let’s pray for the gifts God has given to his people. Always a blessing, QuickStudyProphetic
