Jesus was accused of having a demon!?
How do you test Truth?
So close the Jews were standing – RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM, yet they could not hear his message! Why? Jesus said it was because they were not part of his flock, verse 26 of chapter 10. He literally said the reason they do not believe is because they are NOT HIS SHEEP. WHAT IS JESUS BEING EXCLUSIVE!? Actually YES HE WAS/IS. The gospel we preach and believe is called the Kingdom of God. Jesus said
“No one comes to the Father but through me.”~ John 14:6
If somebody cannot accept this information, they are not your friends but rather your assignment. Your assignment not being your project or something to probe, but something to preach to. There is no need to be ashamed of this information. All I’m trying to say here is, don’t become complacent with the truth you possess, but exercise it in the light as it should be, otherwise darkness is desiring your life more. After all the sword of the Spirit is the word of God, therefore keep it with you.
How to test a doctrine and ministry?
Clearly half of the Jews in the above passage tested the Christ the right way! Half said he is insane while the other half said he has to be of God because of the signs which follow him. This is exactly the same way we need to test the gospel preached by anybody who proclaims anything relating to the Kingdom of God. Obviously if they are counter Christ then you can flat out reject them with no bad feelings, but if they are factious or collusive with no evidence of God then test them. Please take into account I do not speak of students/learners, but rather teachers. Teachers are those people who say defined statements with closed clauses, not questions like disciples.
“you will know them by their fruits” ~ Matt 7:20
Therefore test all things, by observation and questioning their motive. I know this is tedious and sometimes a lot of work, but remember the devil is tenacious in his pursuit to debunk even the elect according to Matthew 24:24 (this actually speaks of false signs ~ they will never promote Christ). Therefore because Satan is very crafty, learn to be vigilant as 1 Peter 5:8 teaches,
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” ~ 1 Pet 5:8
“No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” ~ 2 Cor 11:14
Stay humble and take the challenge – be a voice when there is none. Questions and seek out the truth. Your life will thank you for it.
